He may be a chip off the old block but Angus Gunn hasn't quite surpassed his father for City's greatest ever save.

The 21-year-old delighted Canaries fans with a breathtaking injury-time save to preserve all three points at Bristol City on Saturday.

Following that fantastic effort we put together a shortlist of some of the best saves by City keepers in living memory, with the help of some suggestions from fans.

We then put that shortlist to a poll and club legend Bryan Gunn just edged out his son to top our results with 19 percent of over 500 votes, for a save which the Scotland international rates as the best of his career.

In his autobiography 'In Where it Hurts' Gunn senior rates his best save as being his crucial stop of an Adolfo Valencia effort during the closing stages of the Canaries' famous 2-1 win over Bayern Munich at the Olympic Stadium in the Uefa Cup second round in 1993.

Gunn junior's save pushed him close in our poll though, with his denial of Josh Brownhill at Ashton Gate receiving 18pc of the votes.

Not far behind was John Ruddy's excellent late save from a Luis Suarez shot at Anfield in 2011, making sure of a 1-1 draw with Liverpool following Grant Holt's headed equaliser.

Norwich-born Angus has so far kept 14 clean sheets during the 31 appearances of his season-long loan from Manchester City, conceding 38 goals.

He still has a long way to go to reach the 477 appearances his dad made between 1986 and 1998, to sit fourth in City's all-time appearances list – but he's certainly made a fine start.
