Bradley Johnson would swap being crowned Norwich City's player-of-the year for Premier League promotion.

The leading candidate thumped home his 11th goal of the Championship campaign to beat Brighton on Good Friday, but ahead of Monday's Carrow Road clash against Sheffield Wednesday the midfielder insisted personal accolades are not what drives him on after the pain of relegation 12 months ago.

'My main aim at the beginning of the season was to get promoted and if we do that and I was to win the award then on a personal level it would be a great season,' said the 27-year-old, who has already surpassed his previous best goal tally in his career. 'I have said in the past I don't care who scores as long as we get promoted.

'I would take not scoring again if we win every game left. It is not about me, it is about the team. My main aim is to get back into the Premier League.

'I wasn't thinking of getting as many goals as I have (this season) and I would be lying if I said it wouldn't be nice to be the top goalscorer among the other midfielders.

'You can't rely on your strikers to score the goals; whether it is Norwich or any other club.

'My first year here it was Grant Holt who scored all the goals and no one else really chipped in. The midfielders have chipped in and defenders as well at times this season and that takes the pressure off the strikers.

'That said, you look at Lewis Grabban, Gary Hooper and Cameron Jerome and those lads should be scoring goals because they have the quality. With Grabs being out he has been a big miss for us, but hopefully he can come back soon and score a few goals for us to get us over that line.'
