Farke delivered the latest gloomy injury bulletin at the team's training base just outside Preston on Friday afternoon.

Tettey has already returned to Norfolk and will undergo scans this weekend to assess the extent of the injury suffered in the first half of Wednesday's 3-1 league defeat at Preston.

Both Buendia and Stiepermann are struggling with muscle problems as City prepare for a third game in six days.

'Sadly there is a ligament injury for Alex who is already back in Norwich and will have a scan this evening, maybe tomorrow morning,' said Farke. 'It seems like a ligament is interrupted and we have to probably do without him for the next few weeks.

'There was a tackle in the first half. I remember I sent two players to warm up. Alex is a fighter and when you are warm during a game you can go on. But overnight and then in the following morning he was not able to stand on the ankle. He had to use crutches. We are really concerned there is a bigger ligament injury. Now we wait what the scan and the doctor says.'

'I can't also guarantee it is possible for Emi and Marco to play on Saturday. There is some soreness in the muscles and we have to make a late decision. They were able to do a calmed down, light session and I still have hopes they can be involved. Not big injury, just tiredness and soreness after a game.

'There isn't much time to recover and I wouldn't be concerned if it was a normal week. But it isn't.'

Timm Klose (knee) and midfielder Moritz Leitner (ankle) come into Farke's thoughts along with recent signing Philip Heise.

Mario Vrancic is ruled out for another three games after suffering ankle ligament damage in the East Anglian derby win against Ipswich Town.

'If I am honest Moritz was just a topic for the Bristol game. Now we have to wait and see what happens with Emi and Marco,' said Farke. 'We have some other options but I am thinking about him for Bolton.

'With Timm, the same. He is just training with us since Sunday. Normally next week would be the idea. He couldn't be in the starting line up but perhaps an option from the bench.'

Carlton Morris (ankle) and Louis Thompson (knee) are longer term absentees.

'I haven't had an update since I have been here,' said Farke. 'The plan was for Louis to join team training end of March and maybe Carlton a little bit later. The rehab seems to be okay for both.'
