Norwich City are planning to bring up to 6,000 supporters back to Carrow Road when permitted to open - possibly as early as September.
The Canaries chief operating officer Ben Kensell confirmed that plans were in place to hold test events at the stadium from the beginning of next month - which would mean supporters are present for the start of the new season.
Those test events are subject to approval from the relevant government bodies and the EFL.
Under the government’s current plans, supporters are officially allowed to return to football stadia from the beginning of October - with City preparing for life with a reduced capacity.
“We’re working and lobbying hard with governing bodies and government officials to ensure we’re in the best place to make the decision,” Kensell said.
“Locally, we’re working with our safety advisory groups about what capacity we can bring back and we believe that could be up to 6,000 initially.
“If we are allowed to put test events on in September, then we’ll be communicating with supporters about how they can come into the stadium in a safe environment if they want to.
“If they don’t want to, the rebate exists and will be rolled out again.”
Supporters will be given the opportunity to attend matches with family and friends in bubbles but they will have register with membership numbers on the club’s ticketing website in advance.
In terms of the selection process, season ticket holders will be handed a chance to select which game they would like to attend at the start of the month, with fans guaranteed one game - they will be offered a full refund for the games they don’t attend in that month.
If they do select their preference and aren’t given it - they will be offered another game as an alternative.
The club is also hoping to offer season ticket and membership holders a free-to-air streaming service for games they don’t attend - but that is subject to EFL approval.
The plan is to ensure every season ticket holder can attend a home game every month, but they won’t necessarily be in their allocated seat.
