Arsenal chief Arsene Wenger has insisted there is no danger of the Gunners taking Norwich lightly.

Wenger is urging his squad to carry on where they left off prior to the international break with an impressive win at London rivals West Ham. Wenger knows that will be easier said than done on the evidence of last season's battles against the Canaries, and in particular skipper Grant Holt.

'They gave us very hard games and we need to switch on again,' he said. 'Holt gave us some problems last year, especially at the Emirates, he had a fantastic game there. Last year I looked at him, like many clubs, not to buy him but just to see his numbers because he impressed against us. We were second best at the back last year and that is what we have to correct.

'I have seen Norwich this season, and they have played some good football – they do not give you an easy game. Before the break we finished well with a good game at West Ham, we have to switch on straight away.'

Wenger believes Arsenal is already in a defining phase of the season this month with key tests at home and abroad to come.

'In October the moment of truth starts for the team,' he said. 'The league establishes itself a little bit and the Champions League goes to decisive moments. Therefore of course, it's important to be decisive and convincing. The target is always the same (after an international break).

'When they come back, we want to quickly focus on our own targets again and get the team back mentally on our next game. I believe that we'll work and the team, after our last performance, we will want to continue the good run and focus well. I think the team is hungry and knows that there is no room for complacency and no reason why we should be complacent.'

Theo Walcott terrorised City at Carrow Road last season but the England man has been ruled out with a chest complaint, although fit-again midfielder Jack Wilshere is part of the Gunners' travelling party.
