Only for the brave – that's the deal for the Norwich City fans set on spending their Easter Monday at Deepdale.

The Canaries' season is over bar the mathematical confirmation set to arrive with full-time at Preston North End, having been put to the sword by Fulham's 10 men just three days earlier.

And of course, those away fans on the road for a 466-mile round trip through the Easter bank holiday traffic will be travelling in the knowledge City have picked up just two points away from Carrow Road since their last away win.

That was at Cardiff back in early February – a victory that also broke a run of two points on the road stretching back 11 games and all the way to October 1.

All in all it's been the slimmest of Championship pickings for City's away support and for striker Cameron Jerome, it's about time the slightest bit of faith was repaid by some points away from Norfolk.

Jerome said: 'Obviously we have having nothing to play for in terms of extending our season – but we've got professional pride to play for. We've got our futures to play for. So we've got everything to play for really.

'Monday is important. We've been poor away from home and we keep promising the fans we're going to show up and win a game. So what better incentive than that, to go and prove ourselves.

'We've got two away games left. Preston and Leeds will be difficult places to go, but we'll set ourselves the challenge of winning both.

'Definitely we owe the fans one. We'd like to end the season well and try to get something on the road for those who come and support us week in, week our away from home.

'Whether we can do that or not, it's up to us. We've got to roll our sleeves up and get on with it. We've got two tough away games with teams fighting for things, so we've got to go there and show no fear, repeat our Carrow Road performances and take those away.

'We've had our ups and downs this year, we know we now can't make the play-offs. But we've still got four games to go and we've still got fans who are going to turn up in their numbers home and away, supporting the team.

'So we owe it to them and to ourselves to be professional and finish as high as we can, and end the season going into a break on a positive note.'
