Alex Tettey knows the rules Norwich City will play by next season in the Championship – but he isn't banking on his new contract also coming with the Canaries' captaincy.
The former Norwegian midfielder Alex Tettey signed a new two-year Norwich City deal this week and has recently skippered the side, with Ivo Pinto waiting in the wings and Russell Martin on loan at Rangers.
'I've been captain a couple of times,' he said. 'It's a proud thing to do, especially when you are a foreign player at an English club. But as well, if I don't have the armband that's fine with me. I'm not demanding it!'

Tettey added: 'It's a new project for the club. They are taking another direction. Since I've been here things have been great – Premier League, being in the Championship and going up.
'Financially it's been good and it's not going to be that any more. I understand that. That's why I've signed and not left. Hopefully with a core group that understands the way we are going to go, with everyone buying into it, that will be a good thing as well.'
