Norwich City progressed to the fourth round of the EFL Cup courtesy of a 2-0 over Everton at Goodison Park.
Steven Naismith returned to haunt his old club to open the scoring in the 41st minute when his looping shot struck his standing leg to deceive goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg after Alex Pritchard and Canaries new boy Nelson Oliveira had combined down the left.
Josh Murphy sealed the win in breathtaking fashion in the 74th minute when he cut inside Tom Cleverley before unleashing a rising strike on his left foot from 20 yards that brushed the underside of the bar.
