Looking at the table, supporters of North Walsham might think that tomorrow's visitors Old Haberdashers will be easy meat.

However, coach James Brooks will take an altogether different view as he considers league position is no pointer as to how the game should be tackled.

Having had just one season in London 1N before being relegated, the Borehamwood-based club bounced back as champions last season.

This term has not been particularly happy for them, however, with just two wins to their name. However, they nearly produced an upset last week, going down by just two points to Eton Manor, who sit one place above the Vikings.

Injuries did not help Brooks in his preparations last week as both forward Lachlan Brown-Bates and back Harry Downing failed to come through training and both are likely to sit this one out as well.

However, the performance of recent signing Ben O'Hickey, who came off the bench at half-time at Brentwood, was a real boost as, on the back of a sound 40 minutes, Brooks named him man of the match. He is likely to be paired with new scrum-half Lee Thomson who had a good outing with the Raiders and is prime candidate to replace the unavailable Mike Braans. Wing Jim Riley will also miss out with bruising on his rib cage.

The pre-game lunch will be attended by some 70-plus former players who will no doubt salute James Knight when he is presented with his green blazer awarded for 100 appearances.

Vikings (from): A Downing, T Browes, T Weber, R Miller, W Swart, R Oakes, C Godwin, T Scotland, E Sampson, W Hodgson, L Thomson, B O'Hickey, J Duffield, J Knight, H Riley, D Smith, T Younie, H Downing, T Knight, W Quinn, L Burridge.

The Raiders will be seeking to consolidate their second place in EC1N when they travel to Beccles.

Diss have a tough task tomorrow with a visit to London 1N leaders Chingford, who have won nine out of nine so far while averaging nearly 50 points per game. Diss have been involved in a series of high-scoring matches ending in a win, two defeats and a draw at home to Saffron Walden last week. During that spell they have scored 139 points and conceded 161.
