North Walsham Vikings looking for double over struggling Letchworth

North Walsham host Letchworth in London One North, knowing they can be proud of their efforts against Brentwood a week ago.
The Vikings came up against a side who have scored an average of 50 points a game this season and to hold them to 19 points and keep them scoreless for the final 50 minutes says much for their discipline and commitment.
In addition, denying them a bonus point allowed Chingford to move level on points, which should make the game between the two next week an epic encounter.
Back at Scottow this week the Vikings will be looking to get back to winning ways and at the same time to complete the double over strugglers Letchworth.
The Hertfordshire side are deep in the relegation zone in 13th place, nine points adrift of Saffron Walden who themselves might not yet be safe. When the sides met back in November Letchworth had won just the once, but having had a week off, coupled with a break from training, the Vikings were sluggish and despite winning easily enough it was not a convincing performance.
Few injuries were reported after last week’s game, but wing Jordan Mustard suffered bruised ribs.
It is unlikely, unless there were injuries, that coach James Brooks will make many changes. However, he does have the likely return of prop Tom Browes, flanker Ed Sampson and back Jim Riley, if he has managed to recover from bruised ribs, to take into account.
The Raiders, who put up a good fight at Hadleigh, losing by just three points, head in the same direction this week to play Ipswich YM, who won by seven at Scottow a couple of weeks ago.
Again Brooks should have several returnees who were absent last week, together with some students home for the Easter holiday looking to get back into action, although they will be without the influential Tom Coller who picked up a shoulder injury.
There could also be a couple of “senior” players unable to make the Vikings squad to boost the ranks.
