Having been trounced by Fakenham in the away fixture a stronger North Walsham Raiders held the leaders to a 24-24 draw on Saturday.
The outcome was a true reflection of a game between two sides playing a completely different style, Fakenham depending on their superior forward strength and the Raiders on a more fluid running game. All three of Fakenham's tries came through their pack while the Raiders' four came from their backs, centre Calvin Ball with a brace, Pena Sokia, back after a season-long absence with injury, and Jon Younie. Scrum-half Mike Braans added two conversions.
Elsewhere, Norwich Union recorded an excellent 18-15 win at Broadland-Great Yarmouth, thanks to tries from Ben Bond-Webster and Craig Dunbar and one conversion and two penalties from Lloyd Davis. The hosts scored from the last play of the game to narrow the winning margin.
