With one goal scored in the first minute and the last in the final few minutes the Premier Division game between Evergreens and Thetford could have gone either way, with a 3-3 draw a fair result.

Evergreens quickly went one up when Harriet Segasby used her pace down the wing before firing the ball towards the back post where Katie Sammacicci was waiting to sweep home.

Karen Hodgkinson then levelled, picking up the ball in her own half and running into the circle to strike.

Abby Rolph in goal made some great saves and Thetford went ahead through Sophie Kelly's short corner strike, to which Evergreens replied as Kathryn Gordon fired the ball into the D and once again Sammacicci converted

Thetford went ahead again when Kathy Hammond slotted under the goalkeeper's feet before a short corner conversion from Evergreens completed the scoring.

Hannah Mitchell found Sammacicci, whose exquisite first touch set up her thunderous strike, which deflected off a Thetford stick and flew into the net to complete her hat-trick and earn Evergreens a point.

Dereham II and Harleston Magpies III shared the points in a 0-0 draw.

Throughout the first half Dereham picked up the pace and switched the game around, with some good shots in the circle. Lulu Humberston and Fran D'Souza displayed excellent strength and stick skills.

In the second half, Dereham's midfield had to step up their game to keep up with what was an end to end battle. The game ended with a tense short corner for Dereham but a great strike from Fran Grapes failed to find the back of the goal.

In the same section Dereham III had no trouble seeing off Pelicans II 6-3.

The game started brightly and Dereham were soon 2-0 up through Kate Lavers and Jackie Taylor.

Ellie Davison then made it 3-1 before Pelicans pulled one back.

Gemma Pointer made it 4-1 and after Pelicans had further reduced the arrears Becca Smith-Ames put the home team into a 5-2 lead. Pelicans replied but Kate Lavers had the final say with a short corner strike.

Norwich City III had no answer to the power of early Premier Division pacesetters UEA, with the visiting students romping home 5-0.

City made a strong start but this didn't materialise into any goals and UEA were 2-0 up at the break.

The second half started brightly but tired legs began to get the better of City and UEA managed to sustain their energy levels and score another three goals.

There were some lovely runs from Anya Farrow on the right wing, working well in partnership with player of the match Bev Cushion.

Also in the top flight Norwich City II drew 1-1 at newly promoted Diss.

City's play was neat and controlled and they soon forced Diss keeper Gemma Burton into action but the hosts also had chances in a goalless first half.

The second half started with City on top and finally their dominance was rewarded when, from a short corner, Imogen Ridley smashed the ball towards the goal. Burton managed to get a hand on it but the pace of the shot just saw the ball drop over the line.

This looked like the end to a spirited Diss display but they were soon back on level terms when they won a short corner and Tara Chenery crashed the ball home.

The Diss player of the match was Charlotte Everett.

In Division One Harleston Magpies IV were beaten 1-0 at home by Sprowston Ladies II.

With six young players having their first game of league hockey this was always going to be a tough fixture for Magpies. However some determined defending ended with the side conceding a solitary goal before half-time.

The second half saw plenty of commitment but an equaliser eluded Magpies. Player of the match was Emily McClusky, closely followed by Katie Crawford.

Norwich Dragons III recorded an emphatic 4-0 victory over Broadland II.

Despite the Dragons dominating the score at half-time was 0-0 due to Broadland's solid defence and good keeping.

After several penalty corners, the stalemate was finally broken by Amy Brown. This boosted Dragons' confidence and a second penalty corner saw Caroline Wolfe and Amelia Dawson play a one two move at the top of the D, with Wolfe putting the ball in the back of the net.

The next Dragons' goal came from open play with Isi Christophers sweeping a ball into the D for player of the match Brown to score a second. The final goal came from a Wolfe strike from a penalty corner.

Norwich Dragons fourths beat their fifths 6-0 in Division Three. New member Scarlett Brown led the way with three goals while Lynn Price, Lucy Campbell and Sue Cross also hit the target.
