Teenager Will Feneley has been crowned Britain's number one dual moguls skier.

The 16-year-old won the title at the British Mogul Championships in Manchester – and also qualified for the Junior World Championships Moguls competition – to be held next March in Italy – for the second year running.

Feneley, from Shereford near Fakenham, has put his summer to good use, competing both in Europe and this country and achieving some of his best results to date.

He travelled to Holland for the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS) moguls competition and was fifth overall against all age groups as well as recahing the final eight in the dual moguls competition.

Feneley also represented Great Britain in the first ever FIS European Mogul Championships in this country – at Manchester's Chill Factore. Against some tough opposition from skiers who are more at home on the ski slopes of Europe, He was ninth overall in the European Singles and third overall in the Youth Category.

His dominance of the British Mogul Championships was topped by winning the British singles under-16 category and being the second best British skier overall. In the dual moguls competition he was best British skier overall, first in the under-16 (all nations) and fourth in the all nations overall – making him Britain's number one dual moguls skier at the competition.

At the British Indoor Slopestyle Championships, also held at Manchester, he was third in the under-16s.

Feneley is now able to practise his slopestyle tricks at home in Norfolk, thanks to a foam pit his father, Dave, has had built.

The pit is two metres deep with an adjacent trampoline at ground level which enables Will to fine tune his gymnastic techniques in relative safety.

The teenager is heading to Europe for two weeks at half term for further freestyle training and in December is going to California for six weeks' freestyle and mogul training with the Mammoth Freestyle Squad.

He said: 'I am really excited about the training in California. To have six weeks' intensive training with such a prestigious squad is a fantastic opportunity and hopefully will set me up well for this winter when I plan to do some Europa Cup competitions for the first time – these are just one level below World Cup.'
