After their disappointing result against Lincolnshire the game against North Cambs on Sunday gave Norfolk's Derbyshire Trophy team a chance to get back on the winning trail.

Norfolk needed to get as many points as possible to put the pressure on Lincolnshire, who still have a game left to play. They triumphed by 187 to 82 but won on only five of the six rinks, picking up 20 points. So Lincolnshire now need 15 points from their final game to overtake Norfolk in the qualifying table.

Sunday's games were played at Acle IBC and Wisbech IBC. A number of changes had to be made to the Norfolk team due to players being unavailable.

Norfolk started strongly and led 32-20 after five ends. They continued to play well and by 10 ends had extended their lead to 72-36. By 15 ends the lead had grown to 105-56. With all rinks winning Norfolk looked like picking up all the points. At 20 ends the scores were Norfolk 147 North Cambs 67 and over the last five ends Norfolk scored 40 shots against 15 to win 187-82 .
