Bungay Black Dog Running Club

Meeting place: 'Bungay Area Running Centre' (BARC), situated near to The Maltings Pavilion, Pernhow Street, Ditchingham

Training schedule: Tuesdays – 6.30–7.30pm (speed training, repetitions, and hill sessions); Thursdays – 6.40pm (various runs); Juniors aged between 8 and 17 train on Monday and Thursday evenings at 6.30pm; Sundays – various club runs throughout year.

They say: We encourage members of all abilities and are much more than just a running club.

Bure Valley Harriers

Meeting place: Summer training (Mid April to September) - Tuesdays – Worstead (NR28 9WH) and Thursdays – Sloughbottom Park (NR3 2ES). Winter training (October to mid April) - Tuesdays – Thorpe Recreation Ground - St Andrews FC (NR7 0XQ) and Thursdays – ASDA (NR6 5DT)

Training schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.15pm; Saturdays – parkrun club runs, occasional track and hill sessions; Sunday – beach runs at Winterton, regular runs at Whitlingham, Marriotts Way.

They say: We are a small, friendly and sociable running club with members of all abilities.

Membership cost: £15. A further £15 UKA fee is required if you want to race with the club.



City of Norwich AC

Meeting place: Weekly road sessions based at Sportspark at UEA.

Training schedule: Mondays – 6.30pm (4-5 miles at modest pace); Tuesdays – 6.30pm (6-10 miles at 6-9-minute mile pace); Thursdays – 6.30pm (effort session); Sundays – 10-12 miles

They say: We welcome runners of all abilities – from beginners to international standard athletes.

Membership cost: £21 (athletic membership); £16 (off track membership) – other membership options available – see website. You may also sign up for a free trial month.



Coltishall Jaguars

Meeting place: Scottow Enterprise Park (former RAF Coltishall site)

Training schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays – 6.30pm; Sundays – 8am. Winter training programme through to April sees several different venues used. See website for details.

They say: We're a friendly and sociable running club that welcome persons of all abilities – from beginners and casual runners to more serious athletes.

Membership cost: £30 (including UKA registration), £15 (not including UKA registration)



Dereham Runners AC

Meeting place: Neatherd High School

Training schedule: Tuesdays – 6.30pm (effort session); Thursdays – 6.30pm (long distance training)

They say: Caters for all runners irrespective of age, sex and ability and extends a warm welcome to all runners.

Meeting place: Diss Sports Ground, Shelfanger Road, Diss, IP22 4XU

Training schedule: Tuesdays 7-8pm

They say: Offer training in all disciplines of athletics, including track, field, cross country and road running, to the people of Diss and the surrounding area. Anyone aged nine years and over is welcome to join - from beginners to those looking to improve in a particular discipline.

Great Yarmouth & District AC

Meeting place: Wellesley Recreation Ground

Training schedule: Thursdays – 6.45pm

They say: We offer a warm and friendly welcome to athletes of all abilities. Younger athletes MUST be at least 8 years old AND in school year 4 at school to come and train with us. No upper age limit.

Great Yarmouth Road Runners

Meeting place: Marina Centre, Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth NR30 2ER, UK

Training schedule: Tuesdays – 6.45-8.15pm (beginners); Thursdays – 6.30-8.15pm (training runs ranging from 6-9 miles)

They say: GYRR or Great Yarmouth Road Runners are a Great Yarmouth/Gorleston area running club for all abilities, ages and gender.

Norfolk Gazelles RC

Meeting place: City Academy School, Bluebell Road, Norwich, NR4 7LP; The Fitness Space, Cringleford, NR4 6AU

They say: We're a friendly road running club based in Norwich. Welcome all standards and ages.

North Norfolk Beach Runners

Meeting place: Cromer Lawn Tennis and Squash Club, NR27 0EX

Training schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays – 6.45pm

They say: We're a friendly running club – age profile evenly spread from 18-80. We welcome guests who are on holiday or on business in the area and wish to escape for a run.

North Norfolk Harriers AC

Meeting place: Gresham's School Cromer Road, Holt NR25 6EA

Training schedule: Wednesdays – 6-7pm

They say: We are a new running and athletics club for children in North Norfolk. The intention is to nurture young talent, encourage participation in local competitions, and, crucially, promote a fit and active lifestyle for children locally – regardless of age and ability

Norwich Road Runners

Meeting place: Sewell Park Sports Centre, Constitution Hill, Norwich, NR3 4BX

Training schedule: Mondays – (beginners/recovery run); Tuesdays – (interval training/endurance/hill running); Thursdays – club run in different pace groups.

They say: We cater for all ages and abilities – from those who can win races, to those who have only just started running. We're a large, friendly community that comes together to develop their running, participate in races and activities as a club, and make new friends.

Ryston Runners AC

Meeting place: The Federation Club, Lynn Road, Downham Market

Training schedule: Mondays – 7.30-9pm (track session at Lynnsport and Leisure Park Athletics Track); Thursdays – 7pm (meet at Downham Town Sports Federation), Saturdays – informal training run

Thetford Athletic Club

Reepham Runners

Meeting place: Stimpson's Piece, near the Pavilion. Winter months the clubs runs from the car park next to the Taverham Partnership doctors' surgery.

They say: We are the least competitive club around – most runners run for fitness or have very modest objectives.

Harling AC

Wymondham AC

Meeting place: Wymondham Rugby Club

They say: Welcomes beginners as well as advanced – we pride ourselves on helping and encouraging our members to achieve their running goals and sharing in their sense of achievement when they do.

Meeting place: Water Lane Leisure Centre (Sport Centre), adjacent to the The Ark, Water Lane Leisure Centre, Lowestoft.

They say: We pride ourselves on being a friendly club, with around 50 members and welcome runners both male and female from 18 years old and of all abilities from complete beginners to the fastest in the county.
