Unicorns Championship action returns for Norfolk with a trip to Buckinghamshire tomorrow.

It's set to be a memorable occasion to be a part of at Burnham CC as the hosts will be celebrating their 1,000th game in the Minor Counties Championship.

Norfolk are looking to bounce back from a five-wicket loss at Staffordshire in the Unicorns Knockout Trophy last weekend – their fourth away quarter-final defeat in four years.

'Losing the toss had a massive part to play in the result last week,' said one-day coach Chris Brown, who returns to three-day captaincy duties this weekend.

'But we move on to the Championship against Buckinghamshire and it's their one-thousandth game so they've got a few speakers lined up and there should be a good crowd, so the lads are looking forward to it.'

Bucks will have former Norfolk professional Garry Park in their line-up – who scored 373 runs and took 11 wickets in the Championship last season – and the visitors travel with an unchanged team from their rain-affected draw at Hertfordshire

'We're looking forward to coming up against Garry because he's a super bloke,' Brown continued. We've gone with the same team, Jimmy Hale would have potentially come into selection contention but he's unavailable unfortunately.'

Rob Taylor's 78 had led the way as Norfolk scored 336 for seven at Hertford in their opening Championship game, before the hosts racked up a big total of 458-8 and a lead of 122.

However, Brown's team started a solid recovery and had opener Sam Arthurton unbeaten on 101 to stand at 172-1 for a lead of 50 – before the rain arrived and forced a draw.

'We played some decent cricket,' Brown added. 'Particularly in the second innings, so we'll be looking to do the same things again but we know we've got a tough game against Buckinghamshire.

'We beat them quite easily last year but they've got a slightly different side now so it won't be easy, but we're looking forward to trying to get back to winning ways and then we can look forward to our festival getting under way.'
