Two Norfolk teenagers are defying their county's flat landscape and aiming for mountain glory.
Jazmine Butcher and Megan Jenkins have both been named in the Delancey British Under-18 Alpine Squad for the 2014/15 season by British Ski & Snowboard (BSS).
The pair both learned the basics of skiing on the dryslopes of Norfolk Snowsports Club in Trowse but have shown enough potential on the snow-covered slopes of the Alps to persuade BSS to include them in the squad.
In March, Norwich School pupil Jazmine, 17, secured a podium place at the English Alpine Championships in Bormio, Italy, finishing third in the Under-18 Giant Slalom.
While for 16-year-old Framingham Earl pupil Megan the call-up represents her next step within BSS after four years with the under-16 alpine squad.
Jazmine, from Little Melton, said of her call-up: 'It wasn't something that I was expecting, but it's really good that it did happen.
'Hopefully I can build on this. It's a bit of a push but I'd quite like to go to Pyeongchang (Winter Olympics in South Korea) in 2018; we'll see how that goes though.
'I started my first proper international season this year so at the start of the season I was racing a guy who came 10th in the Levy World Cup in Super Combined in San Pellegrino (Italy).
'That was quite a shock because you start comparing yourself to the guys who are winning who are properly world class and you're like 'I've got to make that much of an improvement'.
'It's a bit daunting but it's a lot more fun than just doing races in Britain. You can travel around Europe for so many different things.'
Megan, from Surlingham, is hoping to continue her rise in the sport as well after finishing first in the under-16 girls' Slalom and Combined classes at the Delancey British National Alpine Ski Championships in Meribel, France last month, as well as second in the under-16 girls' Super G.
'Staying on the national team will give you such a big advantage but I think the Europa Cup or possibly the World Cup in the next five to six years would be amazing,' Megan said.
'I was on the under-16 team for four years last year so it's kind of the next step in British skiing. The higher you go, the less people take part but it's more of an honour to be part of the national team.
'I wanted it to happen, I wasn't too sure because I hadn't had the best season at all but I thought if I put down some decent results in the British (Championships) then it might happen, which I did, so it happened but hopefully I might stay there for quite a bit.'
Meegan has recently been supported with sponsorship from the Skiers Trust of Great Britain and winter sports equipment manufacturer Rossignol.
