Apollo take off in Snetterton’s Fun Cup race

Less than three seconds separated the podium places in the Fun Cup race at Snetterton, after four hours of hard-fought racing, with the series leaders team of Zoe Wenham, Guy Wenham and Ryan Burke coming out on top.

Wenham led the Apollo Motorsport team to a narrow victory, despite spinning in his first stint, having had control of the event after an extended safety car period which ended some 22 laps from the finish.
Second place was not decided until two laps from the end when the DespatcheBay.com crew of Andrew Bicknell and Harry Mailer ousted 2Rent Domino's Henry Dawes and Chris Hart.
The Team7 Fun Bikes 3 crew, who finished first on the road, missed a pit stop window and received a one-lap penalty for their trouble, dropping to ninth as a result.
While reigning Open Sports Car Champion Mike Jenvey had a nightmare weekend at Snetterton, retiring out of all three events having led the opening pair, Josh Smith scooped the prizes with a hat-trick of victories. Patrick Sherrington was runner-up each time, with the final podium places going the way of Steve Griffiths, Daniel Prendergast and Graham Hill.

When Steve Poole retired out of the opening Ford XR2 Challenge race Justin Roberts was left to unseat Michael Heath to claim victory. In the second race Heath had to withstand race-long pressure from both Roberts and Poole, but clung on to to take victory, while in the third encounter Heath had to overthrow Roberts before claiming victory.
Simon Hill was made to work extremely hard by James Colbourne in both of the VW Production Golf GTi races before he could claim the winner's garlands as James Howlison led the rest of the field home on both occasions.

Andy Race led every lap of both poorly-supported TVR Challenge races as Jamie Golby and Michael Blake scrapped over second in both events. Nathan Barton was an easy winner in the opening Superkart UK race and had race two under control until a mid race problem sidelined him. Charlie Johnson took over at the front and ran out an easy winner after rival Ben Parkinson retired on the final lap.
