The RAF Regular and Reserves motorcycle racing team are set to return to the 2018 Isle of Man TT for the first time since 2015.

Based at RAF Marham, the team have signed former two-time TT winner Gary Johnson.

Johnson, who was sixth at last year's Macau Grand Prix for the team, stood in for the injured Jordon Weaving at the last BSB at Oulton Park and had a good North West 200 in Ireland last weekend with the team just missing out on podium places.

He will compete in all solo classes, except the Zero TT electric race, on the team's Kawasaki ZX10RR and Triumph 675 triple and will be on the Chinese WK Supertwin for the Lightweight TT. Having raced in his first TT in 2007, Johnson is one of the men to beat there and has been on the podium six times, including Supersport wins in 2011 and 2014 and has had many top-six places on the famous 37¾ mile Mountain Circuit.

Practice starts on Saturday for a week with the first races on the following Saturday.
