Martham's relentless charge to the Norfolk Division One title continued on Saturday as they made light work of relegation-threatened Norwich Bystanders.

The leaders – who are a massive 74 points clear at the top of the table – bowled bottom side Bystanders for 110 before reaching their target for the loss of just three wickets. Opener Jack Whatmough continued his fine form with the bat in 2014 with an unbeaten 69.

Martham are undefeated in league action this term having won 10 of their 11 matches. One fixture was a no result due to the weather.

Try as they might, Great Yarmouth are doing their best to keep pace with the champions elect as they battle with Horsford B to claim what looks to be, at best, the honour of being runners-up. A two-wicket win for Yarmouth over Ketteringham Hall, despite the best efforts of Chris Butler who scored 66 for the defeated side, kept them two points ahead of their nearest rivals. They beat East Harling by 24 runs, even though Stuart Hilton (4-43) and Barry Wells (3-5) could leave the field wondering how their side hadn't pulled off a shock victory. Yet Horsford got over the line thanks, in large, to Sakib Shaib's 51 and Mike Scarff's 5-12.

The Division Two title race continued to hot up as second-placed Kirkley & Lowestoft Railway saw off the league leaders Blundeston in a tight match. K&L won by three wickets, successfully chasing down 195, and now sit just eight points off the summit.

There was also a victory for Felthorpe in third which leaves them just eight points off the top two. Jon Spicker (79) and Steve Ridout (54) were the main men as their team registered a dominant 221-6 against a Great Melton B side who were bowled for 133.

In Division Three, Costessey made very light work of Rackheath while Garboldisham B were pushed all the way by Winterton A. At the other end of the table, Hales & Loddon A's chances of moving off the basement were not helped by being on the end of a 'no result' against Hingham.

In Division Four, Reepham & Salle triumphed again to ensure North Elmham's latest victory didn't bother them too much. Salle sit top with 240 points while Elmham are behind them with 214.

'Hardingham left feeling Flatt by Acle bowlers'

Bowler Joe Flatt returned superb figures of 3-4 as Acle B beat Hardingham B by 40 runs.

Flatt and James Hasting (4-19) were the main protagonists as the hosts recorded a victory despite posting just 115 in the Division Six encounter. Lee McMahon top-scored with 24. However, Flatt and Hasting's expert work with the ball was enough to see the league's second-placed side home with a trio of Hardingham players going for a duck and only three reaching double figures.

That win kept Acle comfortably ahead of Ketteringham Hall, who lost at runaway leaders Brisley, but a massive 52 points behind the pace-setters.

In Division Seven, Carl Oxborough registered an even better 4-7 as Great Ellingham shared a miraculous draw with Brooke B. Both sides had to share 16 points each after they posted scores of 140 all out in what was a thrilling finale. That draw allowed Horsford C to close the gap at the top to 33 points as a result of their nine-wicket win over struggling North Walsham & Bacton. Basement boys Ashmanhaugh & Barton Wanderers C lost for the seventh time and remain cut adrift at the bottom.

In Division Eight, Beetley enjoyed an eight-wicket win over Beeston in one of only three matches played. Reepham & Salle A and Mundford A also won.
