Norfolk secured County Week glory for the second time in three years yesterday after beating Cambs and Hunts in their final match at Woodbridge.

Sammy Martin’s youthful side came through a tough match 6-3 to book their place in September’s national finals at Royal North Devon Golf Club.

They finished the competition with three wins, one half and just one narrow defeat and will now be looking to emulate the achievements of the 2016 side, who finished third at Waterlooville in Hampshire.

Norfolk set up the regional success by winning two of the morning foursomes, with Tiffany Mills and Imogen Leeder and Amelia Williamson and Chloe Rowswell both coming through 4&2 while Jasmine Campbell and Jo Herd lost 4&3.

It was then all down to the six afternoon singles and while the top two matches involving Williamson and Leeder were both tight affairs Rowswell (4&3), Campbell (3&2) and Mills (3&2) secured emphatic wins to seal overall success. The opening games were both halved while Megan Mann lost 3&2.
