The county second team brought their season to a close, losing 9-6 to the Staffordshire second string.
Staffs maintained their season long unbeaten run, winning all eight of their matches to secure promotion to Division Two of the Inter County Regional Championships.
Norfolk finished in a mid-table position, winning four and losing four matches. In the singles, Luke Cox won his match in three sets, whilst Mike Philpott was narrowly beaten in three. Serena Verney and Lucy Curran lost their singles in straight sets.
The men fought back strongly in the doubles with team captain James Ruthen and Matt Howes winning both their matches and Philpott and Paul Daynes picking up one. Verney and Michelle Dungar shared their doubles with both matches going to three, whilst Curran and Katie Ruthen were beaten in their games.
With the score 7-5 in Staffs favour, Norfolk were still in with a shout if they could win all three mixed doubles. Cox and Verney won their match in another three setter, but Staffs picked up the remaining two.
