Despite the best efforts of the local RGB racers, Paul Rogers and Derek Jones, neither have been able to defeat Tim Gray this season or stop him from taking the fastest lap at each venue.

Rogers, from Attleborough, is the current champion but he has been unable to stop the Spire GT3 racer from winning all eight races held so far this season.

Rogers' best results to date have come in the opening race at Silverstone, where he finished in second place narrowly ahead of the similar Contour of Gary Goodyear and Jones, a result he repeated at the last round held at Donington Park. There he held off a new challenger in the shape of Mathew Green in similar Spire GT3.

In between, a trio of third places, two fourths and a retirement have seen Rogers' arch rival from Bury St Edmunds, John Cutmore, push him down to third place in the championship table.

Mulbarton's Jones, a former title holder himself, had high hopes of a championship challenge with the new AB Sabre which is built in North Suffolk.

However Jones has not had the best of fortune, a third place in round three at Brands Hatch the best to date. Jones has also taken fourth place in the second race at Silverstone and also finished in the same position in the opening race at Brands Hatch.

Last year both local Stock Hatch racers, Martin Ward and Shaun Hagen, were race winners and championship contenders but neither have been able to maintain that form this season.

Ward, from Blofield, currently holds fifth place in the points chart some 39 shy of leader Joe Ferguson but after a steady beginning has started to shine in recent events.

Donington Park was the venue for the last event and in race two Ward claimed the extra point for fastest lap on his way to finishing fourth, in a bunch finish, with the leading quartet separated by less than a second at the chequered flag.

However Ward's best finish to date has been at Cadwell Park where he finished second to Matt Digby after a battle with Jake Farndon before following up with sixth in race two.

Brands Hatch only yielded 14th and 13th places while in the opening races at Silverstone Ward could only manage eighth and tenth.

Meanwhile Hagen, from King's Lynn, has been finding it difficult to break into the leading group. His season started with 12th and 13th places at Silverstone followed by eighth in race one at Brands Hatch and 15th in the second encounter.

The west Norfolk driver then finished tenth at Cadwell Park improving by one place in the second race.

Finally at Donington Park Hagen posted a tenth place finish in race one before taking 16th in event two to maintain seventh place in the championship table.
