Norfolk Cricket League round-up: Carter shines with double ton for Happisburgh

May player-of-the-month winner Jamie Carter scored a mammoth 201 for unbeaten Happisburgh as the Division One leaders piled up 335-6 against bottom side Kirkley & Lowestoft Railway, who could only muster 190 in reply.

Felthorpe moved into second place as they thrashed East Harling by 138 runs, Matt Doyle making 86 and Satish Chelladuri taking 5-32.

In Division Two, Eaton held on to top spot by a point from Saxlingham after a thrilling tie against Garboldisham B, both teams scoring 234-9. Saxlingham beat Ketteringham Hall with Guy Wheeler taking 6-16.

St Andrews put some daylight between themselves and bottom side Costessey, who lost to Sprowston, as they skittled Bystanders for 55, Wayne Wright taking 5-10 and Matthew Freestone 3-26.

Division Three East saw top spot change hands as Old Catton overhauled morning leaders Gillingham's 161 with eight wickets to spare, Jay Back leading the way with an unbeaten 53.

Overstrand took over at the top as they demolished Frettenham by 194 runs, Neil Yarham with an imperious 146 and Tony Reedman (71) putting on a 227 opening partnership.

The Division Three West title race is still close, with leaders Reepham & Salle overcoming Hethersett & Tas Valley, Tristan Henderson scoring 62 and George Wright taking 4-46.
