Norfolk Cricket League round-up: Southwold run leaders close but Saxlingham class wins the day

As the heatwave continued in Norfolk, and England bowed out of the World Cup to Croatia, it was back to business as usual in the Norfolk Cricket League sponsored by Ashburnham Solicitors.
Saxlingham stayed top of the pile, chasing down an imposing 261-8 from Southwold.
The champions won by five wickets, with Craig Beeden (95), Mohammed Nifras (66) and Ross Bilham (50) leading the way. Earlier for Southwold, Sam Booker scored 111, while Gareth Gorst-Allman and Jason Wright grabbed 52 apiece.
St Andrews stayed second, Craig Wright (84*) and Kailainathan (60) leading their victory charge as they won by eight wickets against Reepham & Salle for whom George Wright scored 81.
Overstrand are looking over their shoulders as they were thrashed by nine wickets at Caister, despite Danny Shreeve's 63.

Felthorpe remain winless as they lost to Kirkley & Belton by five wickets, while Narborough triumphed in the wild west shootout, defeating Castle Rising by six wickets.
Aylsham still remain unbeaten in Two East, Josh Jex (98) and Rob Bingham (61) starring in their win over Gillingham, for whom Ben Patrick took 4-52 and Liam Smith grabbed 52*.

Ross Saunders (56), James Harley (83) and Connor Nixon (4-32) ensured that Halvergate stayed second as they beat Rollesby, Ben Youngs taking 4-39 for the visitors.
Philip Wright's 62* guided Drayton home against tenants Wensum, while Eaton had an easy nine wicket win over Kirkley & Belton A, and Happisburgh beat Great Yarmouth by six wickets.
Mellis slipped up against Gooderstone but stayed top in Two West, as Garboldisham B also lost, despite a century for Eddie Thorne. Craig Thaxton hit 69 to see Sandringham A home.
Adrian Parke hit 86 for Beeston as they beat Great Melton B to stay in touch.
Castle Acre beat East Harling, and Saham Toney swamped bottom side Great Ellingham, Eusebio Huckle taking 7-23 to add to his earlier 54*.
There were also half-centuries for Jay Leicester (65), Ben Goodwin (62) and Craig Ellis (51).
The T20 finals day line-up for July 22 at Sprowston CC is complete after Jonathan Coe's 70* for Narborough sealed their place in the last four where they will face Martham at 1pm.
Draw is as follows: Caister v Saxlingham (10am), Martham v Narborough (1pm), Final at 4pm.
In the Plate, Horsford v Malayalees (9.30am), Happisburgh v Rocklands (12.30pm), Final at 3.30pm.
Martham slipped up at Frettenham in Three East of the Norfolk Cricket League but Sprowston B could not take advantage, also losing at Coltishall. Hingham and Ketteringham Hall march on in Three Central, while Snettisham A stayed just ahead of Beetley in Three West.
Aldborough move back to the head of Four North from Reepham & Salle A, while Boughton and Heacham slugged it out in Four West. Bystanders A are well clear in Four South, with Colney a distant second, while Broadland head Four East from Old Catton A and undefeated Brooke B.
