Norfolk Cricket Board to run umpiring courses

The Norfolk Cricket Board are running more umpiring courses early next year following the success of last winter's training programme.

The 2010 courses saw 28 people achieve the Level One umpiring qualification and the programme is aimed at:

* Those seeking to umpire games for their club

* People wishing to train as an umpire to join the Norfolk Umpires Panel

* Players wishing to develop their knowledge of the laws of cricket

You may also want to watch:

* Anyone with ambitions of umpiring at East Anglian Premier League or Minor Counties level and even higher

As with last year, there are two courses, one based in Norwich and the other at Fakenham. The Norwich programme will be held over a series of evenings at the Hewett School, starting on Monday, January 17. The Fakenham course will be held over two Sundays, starting on Sunday, March 6.

The course fee is �30 per person and includes one year's membership of the ECB Association of Cricket Officials, one year's membership of the Norfolk Association of Cricket Officials, all ECB course resources and a certificate on completion.
