It may have been one of the biggest days of their lives but one Norfolk couple were determined their family and friends would not to miss England's game against Sweden.
When Amy and James Guymer, from Ormesby, near Great Yarmouth, realised their wedding reception would clash with the quarter-final match they rung the venue for help.
After saying their vows at Martham Church they arrived at Southwood Hall where they were met with cold drinks and a big screen ready to show the match.
Their wedding breakfast was even put back until after the match.
With England 1-0 up at half-time spirits were high as everybody gathered outside for some group pictures and some of the youngsters managed a quick kick about on the lawns.
The happy couple and their guests moved back inside for the second half with a rendition of Three Lions sung as the final whistle was blown.
Kayleigh Lassman, event coordinator at Southwood Hall, said: 'One of the first calls we received this morning was from the Groom for Wednesday's wedding wondering what could be done to show the match, let's hope his bride knows he made that call.
'We will happily make a few minor changes to the time line for the day to make sure the speeches are finished and the room is ready for evening guests to arrive a little earlier than planned so nobody misses the kick-off of the second match of the day!'
If that was not enough to show World Cup fever has well and truly hit the region, then how about a road being renamed in Norfolk?
Following the jubilant celebrations following England's win, one person decided to add a piece of paper with the world Gareth on it to place above Southgate Lane in Lakenham, Norwich.
The Boundary Pub on Aylsham Road, Norwich, put out a challenge for its patrons to drink them dry during the thrilling match.
The punters had a good try with pub staff taking a picture of more than 20 empty barrels.
