Norfolk have secured the backing of their main sponsors for a third successive year.

County cricket club members were told in letters sent out ahead of the annual meeting that Clydesdale Bank would not renew their sponsorship deal for the 2008 season. But they have, after all, decided to carry on for another year.

Norfolk vice-chairman David Browne said: "We thought we were seeking new backers for next year but I'm delighted to say Clydesdale Bank will be our main sponsors again and the way it has worked in the first two years, we're very pleased that has happened."

The sponsorship deal was worth £8,000 to Norfolk in 2006, a major factor in the county making a profit of £6,314 that year.

A financial report for 2007 will be given at the annual meeting at Manor Park on Saturday (10.30am). Opening batsman Carl Rogers will be confirmed as captain for 2008 after Paul Bradshaw was controversially axed from the post he had held for five seasons. Chris Borrett will be vice-captain and Chris Brown will be county coach.

Paul Borrett is standing down as chairman of the cricket and selection committee, with Keith Bray nominated to resume a dual role as club chairman and cricket committee chairman.

There will also be a vote on a proposed £5 increase in adult subscriptions, the first rise since 2002, with the individual membership going up to £30 and joint membership to £40. Juniors will be asked to pay £12.50 instead of £10.
