The Norfolk men will begin their Anglian League campaign on Sunday when they take on Leicestershire - and both county teams are determined to open their account with a win.

County captain Jon Baker-Odlin has set a target of four Anglian League wins for the first team while second team captain Nick Paling intends to challenge in similar style.

The first team, which is at home at Weston Park, is a blend of youth and experience and includes the in-form Austin Brydon and teenager Aaron Bullock, who is making his debut.

Other teenagers are Tom Clements, Luke Johnson and Matt Bacon, who all played in the prestigious Fairhaven Trophies last weekend.

The second team, which is away at Luffenham Heath, includes Charlie Bright, who has just won the Norfolk schools' title and was runner-up in the county matchplay championship.

In the last match of last year, the second team lost to Leicestershire on the last putt of the day. Then, their combined handicaps were 21; now it's eight and Paling is optimistic.

The team selection process is based on current form and merit and Baker-Odlin urges other players to make their mark: 'Nick and I will continue to look and county, club and national results for all future matches, so go out there play well reduce your handicaps and win tournaments to be selected.'
