It was flies, fun and frolics aplenty at East Tuddenham as the Norfolk & Suffolk Flyfishers' maintenance manager Phil Haney got his own back on wife Sue who had out fished him earlier in the week in practise by lifting the prestigious Presidents Trophy – the annual single fly competition.

Competitors could choose just one fly for the three-hour match and were moved up two pegs every 20 minutes. Phil took his four fish well before the final whistle on a yellow blob.

At Rocklands Mere Fishery, the ideal weather conditions of Friday saw a lake full of anglers and an impressive rod average of 5.5. The majority of fish were taken on scruffy buzzers and damsels. Philip Bodie and RMF member Patrick Larke both finished the day on 10 rainbows a piece. The forecast mixed weather and potential cloud should see some excellent rises, particularly in the evening. Small buzzers and damsels should continue to be productive.
