Fakenham moved into second spot after an outstanding victory over previously unbeaten leaders Downham Town.

Fakenham got off to a great start, reaching 40 from the first 10 overs.

Luke Caswell (42) and Ben Harvey (43) played a major role as Fakenham moved to 159-4 off 40 overs, before Will Dunger, with 36 off 27 deliveries, John Ewart (16) and Lloyd Marshall (14), guided them to decent total of 233-8. Nathan Green was the pick of the Downham bowlers with 5-46.

Downham needed a good start but after one delivery the task was already more difficult as Caswell trapped Harrison lbw. Alex Stuart was run out and Downham were reeling at 11-2. At 56-5 off 20 overs it was still an uphill task. Fakenham kept a tight rein on the scoring rate as Downham edged to 100-5 with 20 overs in hand. Yin Lo then provided the breakthrough to reinvigorate Fakenham, and, aided by Keegan Monahan-Fairlie (3-10), Fakenham took wickets at regular intervals to eventually bowl out their opponents for 172. Coyle (4-32) and Monahan-Fairlie were the main benefactors.

The performance of the day though came from Chris Sparkes as his 150no saw Hardingham (263-5) stay in touch with the leaders as they saw off Sprowston A (228-6).

Cromer A (170-2) stayed on course for promotion from Division Five as they won away at Mundford (169-7. Carl Allen (68no) and Oli Kimber (60no) were in fine form for the leaders.

Denver stayed in touch at the top with a walkover against Mattishall.
