Of the Norfolk & Suffolk Flyfishers' 38 visitors to East Tuddenham, the top 25 bags were virtually all landed by day ticket purchasers.

It left quite a few regular members scratching their heads, even though conditions appeared to have been the best for several weeks. Committee member Noel King from Rackheath was the exception: he banked a limit bag on Saturday from in front of the booking-in hut, all on a green Damsel nymph.

At Rocklands Mere, Luis de Souza from Great Ellingham had two successful evenings on the trot. Using black Shipman's buzzers and Klinkhammers, he landed 12 rainbows in total. Jon Brooks fished a fantastic evening session on Saturday, banking five rainbows on GRHE and CDC buzzers. If you're able to, fish evenings or the cooler, overcast days when dries GRHEs and CDC buzzers prove to be the most successful fly choice. On warmer and bright days, damsel or gold head nymphs fished deep have worked well.
