Wroxham boss Stewart Larter admits he is slightly surprised at how impressively his side have started their Ryman Division One North campaign.

Tuesday's 3-0 victory over Barkingside propelled the Yachtsmen to fifth, making it five wins from six in all competitions. And while Larter states that he always has confidence in his team's ability, he concedes even he has been slightly taken aback by their superb start.

He said: 'To be honest with you, I am surprised with our start. Everyone would have taken this position in pre-season – and especially after our first two games – so I am absolutely delighted with how it's gone.

'If you look at our team, we've got a lot of winners there now right down the spine. This has an effect on the people around them; if someone's not doing their job they get pulled up by someone else and it's really good from my perspective to see that happening.'

Wroxham kick off a run of four games on the road today when they travel to 10th-placed Brentwood, a team who themselves are on a run of four unbeaten and come off the back of being the first team to defeat second-placed Needham Market.

Larted added: 'It's going to be another hard, physical game that's for sure. They will take heart from their result the other night and being the first side to beat Needham will give them great confidence. But, we're on a good run of form ourselves and we're really looking forward to it.

Joint top goalscorer Jamie Forshaw misses out. Steven Taylor is expected to take his place.
