Needham Market 3 Dereham 2

Dereham surrendered a two-goal first-half lead against their unbeaten opponents to leave Bloomfields pointless.

After a lively opening Dereham hit the front in the 29th minute when Danny Beaumont played the ball inside to Adam Smith who found Luke Tuttle 20 yards out. The striker instinctively curled a magnificent right foot drive inside keeper Andrew Plummer's left hand post to put the Magpies in front in the 29th minute.

Things got better for Dereham when Shaun Bammant found space in the home box and was upended by Lee Townrow. Beaumont drilled home the resultant penalty to extend his side's lead in the 43rd minute.

In added time Smith brought down Kem Izzet in the Dereham box. Fenn wasted a great chance to reduce the deficit when he blazed high and wide from the spot. Needham threatened at the start of the second period with Jamie Guy heading Sam Newson's centre narrowly wide.

After Andrew Wilton produced a great save from Sam Newson, Smith was penalised for handling in the Dereham box. This time Needham made no mistake with Jamie Guy coolly converting the spot kick in the 53rd minute to set up a tense half. Needham restored parity when Newson beat Dereham keeper Wilton with a stunning 22 yard left footer.

Within minutes Needham won a corner on the right and Wareham's centre fell to skipper Sheridan Driver who poked the ball home to put his side in front.

In added time Needham had to defend a Tuttle free-kick before responding with Wilton producing another fine save to deny Jamie Guy.
