City of Norwich Athletic Club have been celebrating a national gold medal.

The club's under-17 women's team of Megan Gadsby, Ellie Taylor and Katie Goldsmith claimed first place in the English Road Running Association's National Relays event at Sutton Park in Birmingham.

The U17 team had won South of England bronze at Crustal Palace two weeks earlier, when the U17 men's team had also won bronze.

The national final consisted of three legs of 3.88km, with Goldsmith finishing her leg in 14.08mins in fifth place, Taylor taking first place with 14.10mins and Gadsby seeing out the success in 14.21mins for a total time of 42.39mins – 15 seconds quicker than Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers.

Conac's U17 men of William Mahoney (12.00), William Browne (12.38) and Will Simm (12.26) finished seventh in 37.04mins, The U15 girls of Holly Bunn (14.40), Grace Jermy (14.41) and Tialily Crane (14.37) also finished seventh, in 43.58mins.
