Business House League KO cup winners Mitre continue in their quest to land the coveted double, with impressive victories over Trowse 97-74 (J Forster, R Long, K Read 27-15) and Costessey Bush 99-45 (J Forster, R Long, K Read 30-7) taking maximum points from both matches.

Hot on their heels are reigning champions Settlement House, who had a hard-fought victory at Hellesdon 77-63 (J Long, D Howes, P Long 28-6), but made no mistake in the return leg, winning 123-49 (M Allard, J Long, P Long 35-8). With these two still to meet and Anglian Windows to play the top two it promises to be a tight run-in to the title.

At the bottom, Sprowston Sports did their survival hopes the world of good when they beat Catton 78-69 (N Brown, T Haigh, D Ramsey 27-15), a result which relegated Catton.

• On Sunday at Thorpe Recreation Bowls club the finals of the Norfolk EBA league play-offs, sponsored by Hansells Solicitors, was played. In the first semi-final Wootton Park from King's Lynn beat Gissing A 65-57 (5-0). In the other semi, last year's runners-up Acle St Edmunds B beat Hingham Rectory A 61-52 (4-1).

In the final Wootton took the early initiative, leading 18-9 and staying in command with a lead of seven shots after 10 ends finally winning the right to be invited to join the Hansells Premier League 70-42 (4-1).
