The sun shone for sailors as Series B concluded at Beccles ASC last Saturday.
A short reaching course between three and two was the only option in the very light easterly wind. In the Novice Salver, Alex Clayton and James How in their Optimists were close throughout the nine race series, finishing only one point apart for second and third, but with a fourth place in the final race Mattaea Ball in a club Topper collected the silverware.
The Chinese handicap pursuit race winner Rory Kelsey relaxed as crew Georgie Roll took the helm in Norfolk 'Tankard' for the last race. A close battle developed between Kevin Edwards and Glen Curtis in their Enterprises which had Edwards just ahead after 30 minutes.
Kelsey's hopes of a Coronation Cup win over Mark Langston in his Streaker 'Small Beer' were dashed being found over on the start and unable to return quickly enough to recover. Richard and Carolyn Salisbury in Norfolk 'Shanderlee' had last race honours with Edwards and Curtis again close together.
