Dereham Town went five points clear at the top of the Ridgeons Premier Division thanks to a 2-1 victory at Great Yarmouth Town last night – the Magpies' sixth win from their seven matches.
Joe Marsden moving through a crowd to nod home Gary Starling's free-kick on 13 minutes, before the leaders doubled their advantage on 64 minutes when Nicky Howell got round the back of the home defence before sliding the ball to Billy Smith who netted from close range.
Yarmouth got back in the game eight minutes from time when Leighton Crux superbly headed home a deep cross from Jose Vide. But it was too little too late as Dereham march on – while the Bloaters remain winless.
