Team boss Rob Lyon is refusing to hit the panic button as King's Lynn look to bounce back from last week's home defeat to Lakeside by beating Birmingham tonight.

Lyon has kept faith with the same side that lost 49-43 to the Hammers at the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday, even though Daniel Nermark will miss this evening's clash because he's racing in the Swedish Championship.

The Stars will be operating rider replacement and Lyon admits he has total faith in his charges producing a positive reaction from their second home Elite League defeat of the campaign.

Lyon said: 'It's not time to press the panic button yet – we were just beaten by the better side on the night last week, only by six, and that's all you can say really.

'The lads know what it's about because they ride all over the place.

'They knew they had a bad night and they don't need me to tell them it wasn't good enough.

'On the night Niels (Kristian Iversen) and Kevin (Wolbert) can come away with credit, but we win and lose as a team. We need to move forward and forget about Lakeside and take as many points as we can out of Birmingham home and away.

'If we put too much pressure on everybody it all goes the other way. The riders know what they've got to do. They're all experienced enough.

'We've got a team of riders that know what their jobs are and what is expected of them – and what they want to expect from themselves.'

Number one Iversen (unbeaten 14) and Wolbert (eight, paid 10) will be hoping for similar personal performances this evening, with the latter expected to feature heavily in the absence of Nermark.

The Brummies have won just over half of their nine completed meetings and arrive at the Norfolk Arena on the back of a seven-point home victory over basement boys Belle Vue.

Heat leader Sebastian Ulamek has plenty of knowledge of Lynn's Saddlebow Road track, like former Lynn ace Davey Watt who scored a tremendous 15 plus two for Lakeside last week, having ridden for the Stars in the 2002 campaign.

The two sides will lock horns at Birmingham's Perry Barr track tomorrow night as the fixtures come thick and fast following a rain-interrupted start to the season.

Gates open at 6.30pm. Parade starts at 7.30pm.
