Lowestoft Town have announced the signing of Jake Reed – with the fans' favourite making a welcome return to the Amber Dew Events Stadium.

The 27-year-old striker has rejoined the Trawler Boys after his signing for an undisclosed fee was agreed with Leiston.

Having scored more than 85 goals for Lowestoft during two spells, he will line up with his former teammates in a blue shirt once more.

Reed should be available for selection in Jamie Godbold's squad tomorrow (Saturday) when Lowestoft entertain Stourbridge.

That is providing the pitch passes an early morning inspection, which is scheduled to take place at 7.45am.

Delighted chairman Gary Keyzor said: 'We are very pleased to advise that Jake Reed has returned to the Amber Dew Events Stadium.

'An undisclosed fee was agreed with Leiston yesterday and we were able to meet this financially due to some very generous donations from our supporters.

'I would like to thank the supporters who have donated to allow this transfer to happen as under our current financial situation bringing Reedy home would have been beyond us.'
