Lowestoft Town's injury worries have finally eased and joint boss Ady Gallagher admitted the news couldn't be better timed with the Blues' season about to go into overdrive.

Another postponement against Thurrock last Saturday means the Blues are once again falling behind their promotion rivals in terms of fixtures.

Lowestoft already have four games in hand over leaders Whitehawk, who sit 13 points clear of them, meaning January and February are going to be very busy months for the Trawlerboys.

Gallagher admitted the club is going to need all the resources they have at their disposal to ensure fixture congestion doesn't once again cost them the chance of a tilt at the title.

'We are going to need the players back now more than ever because we are coming towards a really busy period of the season,' said Gallagher, who revealed Andy Reynolds, Adam Smith and Greg Crane all came through the Suffolk Premier Cup win at Hadleigh unscathed. 'We are lucky to have the quality in our squad to be able to cope with that.

'We have not been able to pick from a fully fit squad all season but we are getting near to that now. There are still players that need more match fitness and some of them are going to need more games with the reserves before they can be fully put back into the first team.

'But we are going to need them. Whitehawk have stolen a bit of a march on everyone else but other teams are in a similar position to us.

'We can't worry too much about what other teams are doing. What we have got to do is string a run of results together so that we are in a position where we can impact upon the top sides.'

Lowestoft welcome Lewes to Crown Meadow tomorrow (kick-off 3pm) buoyed by the news young defender Curtley Williams has committed to the club for the rest of the season. Gallagher believes signing up the former Ipswich Town academy product could prove to be a shrewd piece of business.

'His arrival has certainly coincided with an upturn in terms of how we have been defending and he has fitted in really well,' he said. 'We're delighted because we have lacked that bit of pace at the back since Curtis Haynes-Brown left and I think Curtley could prove to be a very good piece of business.'
