Lowestoft Town must arrest a worrying trend on Wednesday night if they are to steer clear of the relegation battle come the end of the season.

The Trawlerboys head to Harrow Borough on the back of a run of five defeats on the trot – and a winless streak stretching to eight games.

Manager Dale Brooks has been stripped of his leading players as the club comes to terms with their financial worries, which has led to a slide down the table.

Lowestoft are third from bottom, two points ahead of Tooting & Mitcham United, who have played two more games. Occupying bottom place are Burgess Hill Town, who have five points less than Lowestoft, but with a game in hand.

Tooting have lost six in a row, while Burgess Hill have lost eight of their last nine games, a sequence interrupted only by a win at Lowestoft last month.

When Lowestoft and Harrow Borough last met, a late Rory McAuley goal earned a 1-1 draw – how Brooks could do with that.
