Lowestoft Town joint-boss Ady Gallagher insists his squad has enough firepower to absorb the blow of losing Manny Osei to Ryman League Premier rivals Leiston.

The striker only joined the Trawlerboys in November from Metropolitan Police but, after receiving an offer that was too good to refuse, Lowestoft decided to cash in.

Osei's exit places even more of a goalscoring burden on top scorer Jake Reed, although Gallagher expects the likes of Chris Henderson and Michael Frew to chip in with their fair share of goals.

'We are always disappointed to lose players from the squad but a good offer came in and it just illustrates where we are in this league when a mid-table team can throw cash around like that,' said Gallagher. 'I think it goes to show how well we are competing in this league and we will continue with finding the right balance.

'We don't need to rush out and replace Manny. We have Chris Henderson who is capable of playing up front and Michael Frew is back in the fold following his loan spell. Frewy has looked really sharp so we are certainly not desperate for strikers.'

Lowestoft head to Carshalton this afternoon following a series of postponements due to the recent wet weather.

They are hopeful of welcoming back Curtis Haynes-Brown into the squad with the defender finally overcoming a knee injury suffered in December during the 2-2 draw at Thamesmead.

'Curtis was able to train earlier this week so we're quietly hopeful on that one,' he said. 'We will have to wait and see because we don't want to bring him back too early. We will leave it until as late as we can to make a decision. 'He has been unlucky with injuries this season. He was the victim of a very bad tackle against Thamesmead but he is a big player for us.

'He will need a run of games to get up to speed and it's a big boost to potentially have him available again.'

Lowestoft will be expected to come away from Carshalton with all three points with the hosts currently locked in a relegation battle.

However, Athletic will at least be buoyed by their 1-0 win at Bury Town on Tuesday evening and Gallagher expects his side to be vigilant in their approach this afternoon.

'We can't get carried away because we have often struggled against sides that are below us in the league,' he said.

'We have to approach the game in the right way and we have only played two games in the space of a month so we've got to brush off the rust as well.'

- Lowestoft Town are planning for the future after confirming they are to become a limited company.

A board of nine directors, headed by club chairman, Gary Keyzor, replaces the former committee.

'This important move brings us into line with modern football governance and puts us in a position to be eligible for the next tier of football should we succeed in achieving our aim of gaining promotion to the Conference League,' said Keyzor.

'It puts the club on a sound and stable footing from which to go forwards and gives us better access to football grant funding.'
