Lowestoft Town turned in a battling display in their opening home league game of the season before going down to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of a star-studded Billericay side.
The visitors, who had former Premier League players Paul Konchesky and Jermaine Pennant in their line-up, had to rely on an 83rd minute goal to come away from the Amber Dew Events Stadium with three hard earned points.
Watched by a crowd of 603, the Blues went behind early on when Jake Robinson fired home - but they responded in impressive fashion and were back on level terms on 16 minutes when Jake Reed produced an excellent finish.
It was nip and tuck from then on, with the visitors having marginally the better of it, and they finally secured the win when Louie Theophanous found the back of the net with a cheeky back heel. It was a second defeat of the season for Ady Gallagher's side, who lost by the same scoreline at Leatherhead on Saturday.
