Two goals from Nyren Clunis helped Dulwich Hamlet preserve their unbeaten away record and condemn Lowestoft to a disappointing defeat.

A further strike from Daniel Carr ensured the Trawlerboys wouldn't be winning their third match in the space of a week and the visitors would be leaving Crown Meadow with all three points.

The home side, who began the evening in seventh place, made one change from the team that beat Harlow Town 4-0 on Saturday.

Defender Rory McAuley was restored to the team after serving a suspension, with Harry Barker dropping to the bench.

It was the visitors, who could not be mistaken in their bright pink kit, who had the first opportunity in the opening minute. Recent signing Ibra Sekaja, who scored a goal to keep Crystal Palace in the Championship back in 2011, forced defender Travis Cole into making a smart block.

Dulwich Hamlet, who lost in last season's play-off final to East Thurrock United, then called keeper Jamie Waite into action, as he made a smart stop to deny defender Marc Weatherstone.

And on 12 minutes the visitors were gifted the initiative. A mistake from McAuley allowed Clunis to round Waite and slot the ball into the net for his fifth goal of the season.

The Trawlerboys then began to gain a foothold in the match and Jake Reed fired a shot wide for the hosts before visiting dangerman Daniel Carr rode two challenges before keeper Waite dived low to prevent any attempted effort on goal.

After the break, Lowestoft made a promising start as Joe Marsden's shot was well saved by Preston Edwards. But on 52 minutes the visiting side doubled their lead after Lowestoft again cheaply surrendered possession. Striker Carr brilliantly curled the ball past Waite with his left foot for 2-0.

Dulwich Hamlet continued to dominate the match and were quicker to the loose ball than their opponents.

They had two quick chances to extend their lead on 56 minutes as Waite produced a flying one-handed save to deny Kadell Daniel before Carr saw his shot blocked from inside the six-yard box.

Lowestoft nearly found a route back into the game on 62 minutes.

Reed's shot was saved by Edwards, with defender Matt Drage on hand to clear the loose ball from virtually on the goal line. Moments later, Marsden's shot looped narrowly wide. Hamlet were gradually sitting deeper, allowing Lowestoft a lot of the ball. But there was still time for the visitors to rub salt into the wounds as Clunis scored his second goal of the evening in injury-time, curling the ball past Waite with his right foot.
