Since the event’s inception in October 2015 a total of 3,011 participants have taken part, completing 18,214 parkruns, covering a distance of 91,070 km in the process. More than 4,000 personal bests have been set, 51 of which were recorded on Saturday.

The weekend saw a total of 273 people run, jog or walk the event and saw visitors from Thurrock, Dagenham, Bournemouth, Epsom, Heathrow, Southampton and Alicante. An unknown runner was first home with Great Yarmouth & District’s Sam Stevens second male in 17.30 and Carl Prewer (Lowestoft Road Runners) third (17.32). Tracy Prewer, from Lowestoft Road Runners, was first female in 22.36 with Kathryn Skaziak second in 22.58.

Parkrun couldn’t take place without its volunteers and Lowestoft was thankful to Patricia Critchlow, Lynette Culverwell, Rob Fawcett, John Fawcett, Janet Hitcham, Charlie Marsh, Liam Mullen, Gary Pembroke, Susan Perry, Trevor Rawson, Christopher Woodcock for their invaluable contributions.
