Old Streetonians 23, Beccles 15: Beccles are still looking for that elusive first win of the season despite an encouraging display in London.
They started promisingly with a Wade penalty giving them a 3-0 lead.
Beccles continued to probe, with some strong runs from man-of-the-match Long, but could not get over the line. Old Street ran the ball whenever they could and were rewarded with three tries and a penalty to lead 18-3 at the break.
The second half started badly when Old Street drove the ball over to make the score 23-3 but this was the wake-up call Beccles needed.
The ball was spun to Harmer who created the space well for Long to touch down. Then good work from Ling and Lake enabled Long to touch down again score, with the try converted by Wade.
