Diss return to Mackenders tomorrow for their first home match in London One North since the departure of coach Simon Hill.

The former Norwich chief, who replaced Phil Sharpe at the beginning of the season, parted company with the club before last Saturday's 29-12 defeat at Woodford, their fifth successive league defeat. Diss know they must now bounce back against fellow strugglers Tabard to retain realistic hopes of avoiding the drop.

Diss did not perform well when playing the Hertfordshire club earlier in the season, with a lack of discipline and precision letting them down on that occasion.

The coaches will be looking for a more cohesive approach tomorrow. The side has changed little since last week with Matt Gardner returning to bolster the midfield.

The defeat at Woodford highlighted the problems throughout the season, with Diss starting slowly and having to play catch-up rugby. The forwards will need to dominate from the outset this week for the backs to be released. Giles West, Fraser Hall and Simon Cooper are already having a positive influence following the departure of Hill.
