The mood at Scottow last week was that North Walsham must put the defeat at Diss behind them, move on and re-group.

This they did, with a workmanlike performance against Luton garnering four points for a hard-earned win which consolidated their position close to mid-table in London 1N, with now only bonus points separating six teams.

Tomorrow they are due, weather permitting, to play Letchworth, who they overtook last week, as the Hertfordshire side had their scheduled game with table toppers Eton Manor called off due to a waterlogged pitch. Although there have been more promising forecasts there could still be a chance of this week's game being threatened but if it goes ahead it will no doubt be a bit of a slog, with the forwards likely to see more of the ball than the backs.

As usual there are likely to be changes due to injury. Full back and scorer of the opening try last week, James Knight wisely came off at half-time with a groin strain and will probably do only light training with a view to playing.

Outside half David Treglown took a heavy hit to the head in the second half and is unlikely to be considered for selection. His place could go to the vastly experienced Chris Borrett, back after a post cricket season break. The scrum-half shirt is likely to go to Henry Dewing as last week's wearer of the No 9 shirt Dean Blyth picked up a wrist injury. With Chris Godwin and Pena Sokia sidelined Nick Greenhall would probably have hoped to have Matt Oakes back but the flanker suffered a bad cut to his leg while skiing and will miss this week and possibly next – frustrating as Godwin is taking longer to recover from injury than expected. This could result in a reshuffle of the back row with Tom Williams moving to the openside and Mike Rouse to No 8.

The Raiders will be in action at Scottow for the first time for six weeks when neighbours Holt visit. Both kick-offs are 2.15pm.

In In the same section Diss are entering a crucial stage of the season as they bid to avoid the drop.

Simon Hill's side have won only two of their 15 matches this season, but with other sides also struggling they remain just two points behind fourth from bottom Tabard.

Diss have assessed the next two months' of fixtures and highlighted their targets in order to achieve their aim of remaining in London IN.

They are now beginning to see players returning from injury and hope to select their strongest teams possible over the next two months, starting with tomorrow's home clash with seventh placed Brentwood.

The forward unit certainly looks strong and, as shown during last week's defeat at Colchester, and should be able to compete with any pack in the league.
