Diss play their first home match since returning to London One North when they welcome Brentwood to Mackenders tomorrow.

The campaign started with an 18-8 win at South Woodham Ferrers but recently relegated Colchester proved too strong last week, leading 19-14 with 10 minutes to go and extending that to 38-14 with a late flourish.

Brentwood have also won one and lost one so far, being edged 22-19 at the other relegated side, Amersham & Chiltern, on the opening day before thrashing South Woodham Ferrers 62-0 at home last weekend.

The Essex side finished third last season, winning 21 of their 26 matches, and are sure to pose a challenge to the newly-promoted hosts.

Diss's second XV, the Saracens, started their campaign with a 33-5 defeat at Fakenham in Eastern Counties One North and also play their first home match of the campaign, against Norwich Medics, with the third XV due to travel to Norwich seconds.
